Most business websites that take 3 months to build didn't need 3 months — they needed a plan. The work itself is a few focused days; the delay is almost always decision paralysis, endless design revisions and content that never gets written. This guide gives you the exact sequence we use at Memora to ship client websites in a week, so you can do it yourself or hold your agency to the same standard.
One rule before we start: do the steps in order. The single most expensive mistake in web projects is choosing a design before defining the content, then discovering your content doesn't fit. Content first, structure second, design third — always.
Day 1 — Goals, pages and the one action that matters
Answer one question precisely: when a visitor lands on your site, what is the one action you want them to take? Call you? Fill an enquiry form? WhatsApp your shop? Visit your store? Everything on the site exists to drive that action. Then list your pages. For most service businesses this is enough:
Home — what you do, for whom, and the main call-to-action above the fold.
About — who you are, why you're trustworthy, real photos of real people.
Web wisdom, once in a while
Pricing honesty, SEO tips and launch playbooks from the Memora studio. No spam, unsubscribe anytime.
Contact — form, email, map, hours, and your phone number if calls matter.
Five pages beat fifteen. Every extra page you add at this stage is extra content to write, extra design to maintain and extra places for visitors to get lost.
Day 2 — Domain and hosting (30 minutes, not 3 weeks)
Buy a domain that matches your business name — .com if available, otherwise .in, .co.in or a modern TLD like .bond or .shop. In India expect ₹700–₹1,200 per year. Buy it from a registrar you control (Hostinger, GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare Registrar) and keep the login in a password manager, not with your web designer. Your domain is your digital identity; owning the account matters more than saving ₹200.
For hosting, the 2025 reality is that you no longer need to rent a server. Modern sites built with frameworks like Next.js deploy to platforms like Cloudflare (free tier) or Vercel and load fast globally for close to zero cost, SSL included. If you're going the WordPress route instead, budget ₹2,000–₹5,000/year for decent managed hosting.
Day 3 — Write the words before choosing the look
Content before design sounds boring but saves days of rework. For each page, write in this order: the headline (what you do + the benefit), the supporting sentence (for whom, why you), the body (services, proof, specifics), and the call-to-action. Write for a 12-year-old's reading level and short attention spans — visitors scan, they don't read.
Gather your assets today too: logo file, 8–15 real photos of your work/premises/team, and any reviews or certificates. Real photos beat stock photos every time — visitors can smell stock photography, and it quietly kills trust.
Day 4–5 — Design and build
Reading about it — or ready to have it built?
Memora designs and builds complete business websites for a flat ₹3,999 — copy, SEO and launch included, live in 7 days. Fixed quote in 24 hours.
Now — and only now — design. You have three realistic paths:
Path
Cost
Time
Best for
DIY builder (Wix/Framer/WordPress)
₹500–1,500/mo
2–5 days of your time
Very tight budgets, simple needs, willing to learn
Hire a studio (e.g. Memora ₹3,999 package)
₹3,999–₹15,000
5–7 days, hands-off
Businesses that want a professional result without touching code
Full custom agency build
₹25,000+
2–6 weeks
Complex requirements, e-commerce, bespoke features
Whichever path you pick, judge the result on mobile first — over 70% of Indian traffic is mobile. Check that the phone number and enquiry form are reachable within one tap, that images load instantly and that text is readable without pinching and zooming.
Day 6 — SEO and analytics so Google can find you
A website without SEO basics is a shop with no signboard. Before launch, make sure every page has: a unique title tag (page topic + business name), a meta description that would make someone click, one H1 and logical H2/H3 headings, descriptive image alt text, and a sitemap submitted to Google Search Console. Wire up analytics (Google Analytics 4 or Cloudflare Analytics) so you can see visitors from day one. This is exactly the checklist we run for every client site before it goes live.
Day 7 — Launch, test, tell everyone
Run the final pass: test every link and the contact form (submit a real enquiry and check it reaches you), view every page on a real phone, check spelling, and confirm the site loads in under 3 seconds on 4G. Then publish — and actually announce it. Put the link in your WhatsApp status, Instagram bio, Google Business Profile and email signature. A website nobody is sent to is a billboard in a basement.
After launch: the 30-day improvement loop
Sites are not statues. For the first month, check Search Console weekly: which queries show up? Which pages get impressions but no clicks (fix the title)? Add the questions customers actually asked you this month to your FAQ. Write one short article about a problem your customers have — that's how a site starts ranking for the long tail. Small, consistent improvements beat a big redesign every two years.
Skip the learning curve — launch in 7 days flat
Memora's ₹3,999 business website package covers design, build, SEO basics, forms and deployment. You send content and feedback; we ship the site.
Yes — when scope is fixed (5–7 pages), content is ready on day 3 and decisions are made quickly. Projects drag for months because of changing requirements, not technical difficulty. This is why Memora's package fixes scope and price upfront: the timeline holds.
Do I need to buy hosting separately?+
Not necessarily. Sites we build deploy to Cloudflare's network — the SSL and global CDN are included at no extra cost. Traditional WordPress sites do need paid hosting (₹2,000–₹5,000/year).
What should my website's domain name be?+
Your exact business name if it's available, short enough to say over the phone, and easy to spell. Avoid hyphens and numbers. If .com is taken, .in is perfectly credible for an Indian business.
How much does it cost to maintain a business website afterwards?+
With a modern static/edge deployment, running costs are essentially the domain renewal (₹700–₹1,200/year). Budget for occasional content updates — either your time or a care plan like Memora's from ₹999/month.
